Not only is Lady Gaga a singer and actress but now a supermodel?! That was the question of the day at Marc Jacobs show stopping fall 2016 collection which marked an end to New York fashion week.
Following her Grammys tribute to David Bowie, this mega star had Jacobs design her an elegant and bright iconic blue Bowie suit, which tipped Gaga to walk during Jacobs’s explosive show.
Yet a foot shorter than the average model, Gaga still pulled this off as gracefully as can be.
Sporting an oversized navy fur trench coat, Gaga strutted the catwalk like no other. The lime green bowed blouse underneath complimented the 20’s finger waves in the models hair with jet black eye makeup done in an abstract – the smudgy style making this whole look which included knee high laced platforms. Very classy and dark yet elegant and empowering, setting a kind of Scandinavian theme.
It wasn’t just the models and the catwalk that made this show incredible but also the atmosphere Jacobs had created. Beginning with an iPhone ding alert for a text message which rose and fell to pitch heightened the silence in the Park Avenue Armory and was transformed into a white circular room to contribute the rendered dark colours and some pops of colour ranging from green to lilac.
Models appeared from one side walking around the runway in the circle giving the audience a clear look at the detail of Jacobs’s designs.
Gaga wasn’t the only model stealing the show with the likes of Kendall Jenner also making an appearance on the catwalk; with a dark oversized sewed mesh coat, matching with a high waist skirt attached to a jet black leather top, completed with long crow feathers.
The audience included Christina Ricci, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emily Ratajkowski.
Marc Jacobs took his bow in a charcoal suit wearing ‘Made for History Hilary Clinton’ tee which he customised himself with dark and bright sequins, giving a perfect end to a perfect week of fashion in New York.
